Safety and Environment Supervisor  

The Safety and Environment Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving workplace safety and environmental programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing environment.

This role focuses on identifying and eliminating unsafe practices, conditions, and materials while ensuring full compliance with local regulations and international standards. The Supervisor will oversee chemical, machinery, and product safety, safeguard employees and facilities, and contribute to operational excellence through proactive risk management and safety-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and continuously improve workplace safety and environmental programs, recommending enhancements aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.
• Review and evaluate plans and technical specifications for new machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards.
• Conduct safety orientation for newly hired employees and project contractors, reinforcing proper on-site work practices and hazard awareness.
• Plan, facilitate, and document safety trainings, drills, and seminars for plant personnel to strengthen safety competence and compliance.
• Ensure buildings, facilities, equipment, and products comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the implementation of corrective actions following inspections and audits.
• Stay updated on current safety laws, regulations, and industry best practices, integrating them into company policies and operational processes.
• Perform regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and evaluate the effectiveness of control measures across facilities, machinery, equipment, and work processes.
• Monitor and verify the proper maintenance and functionality of fire detection and alarm systems, paging systems, firefighting equipment, and emergency response tools.
• Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses to determine root causes, assess preventability, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of safety procedures and industrial control measures, including lockout/tagout protocols and other critical safety systems.
• Organize, facilitate, and document Safety Committee meetings, ensuring follow-through on action plans and compliance initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements set by government agencies such as DENR, LLDA, BFP, and relevant local authorities.
• Prepare, submit, and monitor regulatory reports and permit applications required by DENR and LLDA, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Health & Safety, Mechanical, Chemical) or any related field
• At least one (1) year of experience as a Safety Officer III, Engineer, or in a related safety-focused role
• Working knowledge of Food Safety standards, ISO 9001, CGMP, HACCP, and HALAL requirements
• BOSH or COSH Certification is an advantage
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills
• Ability to remain effective and decisive in high-pressure environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence safe practices across all levels
