About the Client
Our client is a US-based logistics provider recognized for delivering reliable, efficient, and customer-focused supply chain solutions. With years of experience in domestic and international freight, they support shippers through smart processes, responsive communication, and modern operational tools. Their services cover a wide range of logistics needs, ensuring that every shipment is handled with accuracy, transparency, and care.
Schedule: Night Shift
Location: Fully Remote (WFH)
The Mission:
To ensure every air import shipment reaches its destination efficiently and compliantly—by proactively identifying risks, resolving exceptions, and taking full ownership from arrival to delivery.
What You'll Do:
- Own end-to-end air import shipments, from pre-alert to final delivery and billing closure
- Proactively identify and resolve shipment exceptions, including:
- Flight delays, rollovers, or offloads
- Missing or incorrect documentation
- Customs clearance issues or holds
- Cargo availability and handling delays
- Take decisive action to recover shipments at risk, coordinating with airlines, agents, brokers, and trucking providers
- Ensure compliance with U.S. import requirements, including coordination of AMS (Air AMS / ACAS) filings
- Validate shipment documents (MAWB/HAWB, invoice, packing list) and correct discrepancies before they impact clearance or delivery
- Monitor cargo arrival, free time, and warehouse status to prevent storage charges—act before issues escalate
- Communicate clearly with clients, not just updates but solutions and next steps when issues arise
- Escalate when needed—but only after exploring and driving possible resolutions
- Validate costs, flag discrepancies, and ensure accurate and timely billing
- Maintain accurate shipment records and milestone updates in TMS
Minimum Qualifications
What You Need:
- 2–5 years of hands-on air import operations experience in a freight forwarding environment
- Proven ability to handle shipment exceptions independently (not just escalate or wait for instructions)
- Strong working knowledge of air freight processes and documentation (MAWB/HAWB, arrival notices, PODs)
- Experience managing U.S.-bound shipments, including Automated Manifest System / Air Cargo Advance Screening requirements
- Familiarity with customs clearance processes and resolving clearance-related issues
- Experience coordinating across airlines, co-loaders, brokers, and overseas agents
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority shipments simultaneously without losing attention to detail
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills under time pressure
- Clear and proactive communication style—especially during disruptions
- Experience using TMS
- Amenable to working the night shift (US - EST time zone)
