Job Description
Overall Role Purpose:
- To manage and co-ordinate the branch to ensure that Cebu maximizes the full growth and profit potential from the catchment area, delivering DHL’s market leading services in accordance with the Mission Statement and DHL’s global & regional strategic objectives.
Internal:
Marketing
- Draw up and implement an annual business plan for the branch.
- Adapt and develop this plan as the year goes by to ensure that DHL maintains and is seen to maintain or increase its market leading position and market share.
- It will also be necessary to take an active role in the local business community, Chamber of Commerce, etc.
- Protect and promote the DHL brand by maximizing the coverage and quality of the office, fleet, signage, staff appearance, technology, etc.
Sales
- Monitor local sales activities to ensure that productivity and the appropriate level of quality are maintained.
- Liaise closely in these matters with the ASM / IDM
- Assist the GMNC and National Sales teams to actively grow and maintain the existing customer base. (This is likely to include developing a personal relationship with all GMNC customers in the area.
- Work through any issues in co-operation with the GMNC & National teams.)
- Ensure that information regarding competitor activity is gathered on an ongoing and consistent basis so it can be collated and used to ensure DHL is fully aware of competitors actions and initiatives.
Customer Service
- Liaise closely with centralized Customer Service to ensure that local customers receive the very highest levels of service covering enquiries, bookings, tracking, tracing and complaint handling.
- Monitor local customer feedback and communicate this with CS management in Manila.
Operations
- Manage the Operations so as to achieve the best possible service levels whilst optimizing efficiency and productivity and keeping within budget.
- Ensure the fleet and other equipment are properly maintained and replaced as scheduled.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- Able to demonstrate a strong leaning towards General Management.
- Good communication skills (written, spoken and presentations) with an ability to relate to staff, customers, suppliers and authorities at all levels.
- Above all, be able to demonstrate common sense in all business matters and act as an ethical driver of DHL’s business locally.
- Minimum of 5 years working experience including at least two years in a supervisory or sales role. 2 years' experience with DHL is a distinct advantage. Preferable background: Sales, Operations or Finance.
