Job Description

Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:

The Data and Systems Head provides leadership in the strategic direction, governance, management, and continuous enhancement of OUDAA's advancement information, reporting, and analytics capabilities to support donor development, alumni engagement, fundraising, resource mobilization, institutional reporting, and data-informed decision-making.

The position serves as OUDAA's lead steward for advancement information and analytics, ensuring the quality, integrity, confidentiality, availability, and responsible use of advancement information. It likewise champions the effective use of information and a culture of data-informed decision-making across OUDAA.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

I. Advancement Information Planning and Strategic Oversight

  • Provides and oversees implementation of strategic direction for the continuous enhancement of OUDAA’s advancement information, reporting, and analytics capabilities.
    • Aligns and defines advancement information, reporting, and analytics priorities and requirements in support of donor development, alumni engagement, fundraising, stewardship, resource mobilization, institutional reporting, and decision-making.
    • Anticipates emerging information needs and evolving institutional requirements that may affect advancement information, reporting, analytics, and decision-support priorities.
  • Develops and monitors indicators for information quality, reporting effectiveness, and analytics usefulness.

II. Advancement Information Governance and Stewardship

  • Provides direction on governance standards for advancement information and related data systems.
  • Provides governance oversight of advancement information assets and supporting data systems.
  • Exercises stewardship over sensitive and strategically significant advancement information.

III. Advancement Information Management

  • Oversees the management of OUDAA’s advancement information assets and authoritative information sources.
  • Directs the continuous improvement of advancement information management processes.

IV. Advancement Intelligence, Reporting, and Decision Support

  • Oversees the generation and effective use of advancement intelligence, reporting, and analytics.
    • Strengthens institutional visibility, planning, advancement coordination, and resource mobilization efforts through reliable reporting and analytics.
  • Directs the continuous enhancement of reporting and analytics capabilities.

V. Information Partnership and Data-Informed Decision Support

  • Serves as an internal advisor on advancement information, reporting, analytics, and information management matters.
  • Promotes alignment and collaboration on advancement information priorities.
  • Champions a culture of data-informed decision-making across OUDAA.

VI. Section Leadership and Management

  • Coordinates with the rest of the leadership team of OUDAA and sets strategic direction and performance standards for the Advancement Information and Analytics Management Section.
  • Assesses overall Section performance.
  • Evaluates the Section’s current and future workforce requirements in relation to strategic and program needs, and guides workforce planning through capability development, succession planning, strategic deployment, and hiring recommendations to ensure sustained readiness.
  • Ensures effective stewardship of Section resources.
  • Leads staff development and engagement.

VII. Performs other work-related tasks as may be required by the immediate supervisor and authorized representative.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Management, Business Analytics, Statistics, Business Administration, Management, or related fields
  • At least seven (7) years of relevant experience in information management, data governance, analytics, reporting, advancement services, institutional research, decision-support functions, or related fields
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years of leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience in information governance, information stewardship, reporting and analytics, information management, and the development of information-driven decision-support approaches
  • Experience in higher education, nonprofit, fundraising, alumni relations, advancement services, or related environments is an advantage
