Job Description

Toyota Motor Philippines is looking for a proactive, safety-focused, and technically capable Emergency and Risk Management Staff to join the Emergency and Risk Management Group.

This role is responsible for supporting the company's emergency preparedness, fire protection, risk management, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives through equipment management, technical project execution, training, audits, and emergency response activities.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a passion for safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Risk Management
  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities, including emergency response brigade management and training programs.
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate company-wide emergency drills, simulations, and exercises.
  • Monitor severe weather conditions and issue timely advisories and recommendations.
  • Conduct fire incident investigations, reporting, information sharing, Yokoten, and Yarikiri activities.
  • Perform Hot Work Permit evaluation, approval, monitoring, and compliance verification.
  • Support internal and external risk management audits and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal audit requirements.

Fire Protection Equipment Planning and Management

  • Plan, evaluate, renew, maintain, and monitor emergency rescue, firefighting, and fire protection equipment and facilities.
  • Map, visualize, and track equipment condition, status, and performance.
  • Develop short-, mid-, and long-term equipment improvement, replacement, and renewal plans.
  • Monitor implementation progress and recommend corrective or preventive actions to improve equipment reliability and readiness.

System Improvement and Project Management

  • Provide technical assistance for system and process improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate existing procedures, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend enhancements.
  • Establish, review, and update operational standards, procedures, and controls.
  • Plan, facilitate, and implement improvement projects related to emergency management, fire protection, and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate with area owners regarding changepoints, facility developments, and risk-related concerns.
  • Facilitate project-related coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Training, Documentation, and Reporting

  • Plan, develop, and conduct safety, emergency response, risk management, and fire protection training programs.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documents, reports, records, and presentations.
  • Conduct daily safety patrols and monitor corrective action progress.
  • Prepare and update concept papers, project proposals, status reports, and management reports.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to audits, compliance activities, incidents, projects, and emergency preparedness programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • Must be willing to work onsite and travel or rotate between Santa Rosa, Laguna and Batangas as required by business operations.
  • Demonstrates a high level of commitment and accountability in fulfilling responsibilities, including responding to urgent operational and emergency requirements when needed.
  • Adaptable to changing work demands, locations, and schedules in support of business continuity and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with stakeholders, facilitate training sessions, and prepare reports and presentations.

Technical Competencies

  • Ability to understand and interpret building plans, engineering drawings, and facility layouts.
  • Knowledge of fire suppression systems, firefighting equipment, and piping layouts.
  • Ability to understand electrical and mechanical plans.
  • Knowledge of time study methodologies, process analysis, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management abilities.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications and digital solutions development.
  • Knowledge of engineering and design software such as AutoCAD and SketchUp.
  • Familiarity with data visualization, reporting, and process documentation tools is an advantage.

Preferred Experience

  • Emergency response, firefighting, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Risk management, safety, and compliance programs.
  • Time study, process improvement, and continuous improvement projects.
  • First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Conducting training, workshops, and educational sessions.
  • Equipment planning, maintenance, and project implementation.
  • Driving skills
