Toyota Motor Philippines is looking for a Purchasing Buyer to join our Purchasing Department based in Santa Rosa, Laguna, Philippines.
The Purchasing Buyer is a member of the Facilities & Materials Section that ensures the timely and cost-effective procurement of indirect materials, services, and projects required by the company. The role is responsible for supplier sourcing and accreditation, bidding and contract management, cost reduction initiatives, and supply risk management while ensuring quality, delivery, safety, and continuous improvement in purchasing operations.
In this role, you are expected to be a domain expert in strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract administration, cost management, and purchasing process improvement.
Your role and responsibilities:
- Conduct sourcing, price reviews, and procurement activities for indirect materials, services, and projects to ensure competitive cost, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Manage the end-to-end buyer function, including PR/PO processing, supplier accreditation, bidding, negotiation, awarding, and contract administration.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers while expanding and strengthening the company's supply base.
- Lead supplier performance improvement initiatives focusing on safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Conduct cost analysis, cost reduction activities, and financial risk management to support business objectives.
- Develop and implement purchasing and sourcing strategies that enhance operational efficiency and business continuity.
- Maintain and manage supplier databases, purchasing records, and procurement reports.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and regional purchasing offices to ensure alignment of procurement activities and requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen purchasing processes and supplier management systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- You have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration major in Operations Management or Supply Chain Management
Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Project management and coordination skills.
- Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of Power BI and other digitalization tools or initiatives is an advantage
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to work with diverse personalities and cross-functional teams.
