Systems Engineer  

About the role:

We are seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join the team at NCS Philippines. This is a full-time position based in Makati City, Metro Manila. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the critical IT infrastructure that supports our business operations. This position is essential to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our systems across the organisation.

What you'll be doing:

• Design and implement robust IT infrastructure solutions including servers, networks, and storage systems
• Monitor system performance and availability, ensuring optimal uptime and user experience
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to networks, systems, and applications
• Perform system administration tasks including user management, access control, and security protocols
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes
• Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and internal stakeholders
• Conduct capacity planning and make recommendations for infrastructure improvements
• Participate in on-call support rotation to address critical system issues outside normal business hours

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in systems administration or network infrastructure management
• Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualisation technologies
• Proficiency with networking concepts, protocols, and infrastructure components
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Solid understanding of IT security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, and access control mechanisms
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in time-sensitive situations
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Associate, or Cisco CCNA are highly desirable
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools is a plus
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a technical team
