QA Automation Engineer [Playwright] ⁿ  

General Responsibilities:

The Automation QA Engineer is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining automated test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of applications within rollout programs. The role builds and enhances automation frameworks, integrates tests into CI/CD pipelines, and supports SLA-driven test execution. The Automation QA Engineer collaborates closely with QA Leads, Senior Automation Engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver automation solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and continuous delivery outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Test Automation Development

• Design, script, and maintain automated test cases for web, mobile, API, and backend systems.
• Develop and enhance automation frameworks under the guidance of senior engineers and leads.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
• Maintain reusable test assets and libraries for scalability and efficiency.

Execution & Validation

• Execute automated test suites and validate results, reporting detailed defects and issues.
• Support SLA-driven test execution (EPC/UGW – Simple, Medium, Complex test cases).
• Perform regression, smoke, and validation testing for fixes and enhancements.
• Conduct performance/load testing using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or K6 (with support from senior engineers).

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with QA Leads, Sr. Automation Engineers, Developers, and Release Managers.
• Participate in shift-left testing by validating requirements and supporting early-stage testing.
• Contribute to automation strategy discussions and provide feedback on tool and framework improvements.
• Support RCA activities by providing automation results and evidence.

Main Requirements:

• Playwright
• TypeScript
• Python or JavaScript
• Experience using Python for data transformation and validation
• Experience in SQL queries and fetching data from DB for backend data validation

Job Specifications:

• Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• Certification (Preferred) - ISTQB Foundation Level (Advanced or other QA certifications are a plus).
• Related Work Experience – software testing, with at least 2 years in automation.
• Prior experience in rollout, telco, fintech, or enterprise-scale environments preferred.
• Experience in rollout, enterprise, or large-scale system environments is an advantage.
• Knowledge – In-depth knowledge in the following:
• Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#).
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, RestAssured).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) and version control (Git).
• Exposure to database testing (SQL queries, stored procedures).
• Preferred: Experience in cloud testing (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective collaboration and communication across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work within tight deadlines and SLA-driven environments.
