Job Description
The Digital Workplace & Collaboration Services Lead is a subject matter expert in Microsoft 365, responsible for implementing, and optimizing collaboration and productivity solutions across the organization.
The role ensures secure, compliant, and effective use of M365 services, including Teams, SharePoint (internal and external), OneDrive, Exchange Online, and endpoint devices. This role focuses on technical leadership, governance, and digital workplace enablement.
Principal Accountabilities
- Serve as SME and operational owner for Microsoft 365 collaboration services (Teams, SharePoint Online—internal and external, OneDrive, Exchange Online, M365 Groups), ensuring stable and reliable operations.
- Own day-to-day M365 operations, including service health monitoring, incident and escalation management, root-cause analysis, and coordination with internal teams, vendors, and Microsoft support.
- Manage endpoint operations and compliance via Microsoft Intune/MDM, ensuring devices are secure, compliant, and fully operational throughout their lifecycle.
- Continuously optimize M365 environments with focus on availability, performance, standardization, change control, and resilience.
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Advise IT teams and business stakeholders on M365 best practices, governance, adoption, and security.
- Manage identity, access, and document security (RBAC, DLP, sensitivity labels, retention, external sharing).
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR) and internal policies; perform impact assessments and recommend improvements.
- Resolve complex M365, Teams, SharePoint, and endpoint issues in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor usage, adoption, and compliance metrics; recommend continuous improvements.
- Participate in relevant initiatives and projects.
Main Tasks
- Configure and optimize Teams, SharePoint Online (internal and external), OneDrive, Exchange Online, and M365 Groups.
- Manage corporate devices via Intune/MDM, including provisioning, configuration, security, and compliance monitoring.
- Implement and enforce governance policies, naming conventions, access controls, lifecycle management, and document security.
- Monitor and report on M365 adoption, Teams usage, SharePoint health, endpoint compliance, and DLP alerts.
- Conduct user training, workshops, and awareness initiatives on collaboration and security best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across M365, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and endpoints.
- Support integration of M365 with other business systems and hybrid collaboration scenarios.
- Act as escalation point for governance, security, compliance, and adoption queries across global teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in Microsoft 365 administration, collaboration, and digital workplace management.
- Expertise in Teams, SharePoint Online (internal and internet-facing), OneDrive, Exchange Online, and M365 Groups.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune / MDM for endpoint management and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of document security, DLP, retention policies, sensitivity labels, and access governance in M365.
- Familiarity with Teams governance, lifecycle management, and adoption strategies.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, internal policies, industry regulations) related to collaboration platforms.
- Experience troubleshooting complex M365 environments and providing expert guidance.
