The Campaigns, Marketing, and Events Head leads the development and execution of integrated campaign, marketing, and event strategies that support the University’s resource mobilization and alumni engagement initiatives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
I. Campaign Strategy and Integration
• Keeps abreast of trends, best practices, and emerging platforms in campaign, marketing, and events.
- Identifies opportunities to strengthen campaign reach, positioning, and effectiveness across target audiences.
• Develops and implements integrated campaign strategies that support fundraising and alumni engagement priorities.
• Aligns campaign directions with institutional priorities and advancement objectives across the Office of University Development and Alumni Affairs (OUDAA).
- Translates fundraising priorities and alumni engagement directions into campaign frameworks, messaging strategies, and communication plans.
• Establishes campaign objectives, timelines, and success metrics.
- Monitors campaign performance and refines strategies based on results and audience response.
II. Marketing and Communications Strategy and Execution
• Develops and leads integrated marketing and communication strategies that support campaign objectives, advancement priorities, and alumni engagement initiatives.
• Defines messaging frameworks, communication approaches, and audience targeting strategies to ensure that advancement initiatives are clearly positioned and effectively communicated, in coordination with the University Marketing and Communications Office (UMCO).
• Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of marketing and communication strategies, using performance data and audience insights to refine approaches and improve outcomes.
• Serves as the coordinating point with UMCO and OUDAA Sections on communication requirements, ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines and alignment with campaign strategies and advancement priorities.
III. OUDAA Events and Engagement Activation
• Oversees the development and execution of an integrated events strategy that supports marketing and campaign objectives, advances fundraising and donor development, and supports alumni engagement initiatives.
• Designs and manages a portfolio of events as coordinated touchpoints across the stakeholder lifecycle.
- Provides direction on improving event design, sequencing, and integration to strengthen overall engagement and campaign outcomes.
• Establishes event objectives and success metrics aligned with campaign, fundraising, and alumni engagement goals.
• Represents the University in campaign- and event-related engagements, as delegated.
IV. Section Management
• Sets direction and performance standards for the Campaigns, Marketing, and Events Section, ensuring alignment with OUDAA priorities, advancement strategies, and institutional goals.
• Assesses the overall performance of the Section through analysis of campaign outcomes, marketing effectiveness, and event performance, and integrates insights into continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversees the development of Section-level policies and provides input to the development of Office-wide policies.
• Ensures that the Section is adequately resourced and equipped to deliver its functions effectively.
• Provides leadership in the development and engagement of the Section.
- Monitors and evaluates staff performance, and provides regular guidance and feedback to ensure alignment
- Manages employee performance by setting targets, monitoring progress, evaluating outcomes, and providing development opportunities
- Facilitates training, coaching, and capability-building initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or related
fields
• With at least five (5) years of relevant experience in communications, marketing,
or events management
• With at least three (3) years of experience in supervisory or leadership role
• Experience in a higher education or nonprofit setting is an advantage
