School Electrician  

Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:

The Electrician I services job requests involving electrical equipment as assigned by the Foreman. This position also implements general electrical maintenance and activities that minimize the disruption of services provided in the different facilities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

I. Service Implementation

• Repairs electrical equipment as indicated in the job request
• Implements general electrical maintenance and circuit breaker corrective maintenance
• Inspects circuit breakers, and other electrical components to determine issues and identifies appropriate action
• Services electrical control, wiring, lighting systems, and fixtures
• Resolves electrical issues using appropriate testing devices
• Resolves electrical issues concerning motor controllers and pump controllers

II. Performs other work-related tasks as may be required by the immediate supervisor and authorized representative

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Administration: Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology
• Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
• Building and Construction: Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads; Knowledge of Low Voltage Switchgear, 3 phase connections, single phase connections; Familiarity with the difference between 380V and 220V connections, as well as line to line and line to ground connections
• Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance; Ability to implement repair and maintenance of branch electrical panels, electrical contactor, lighting, wiring, switches, outlets, etc.
• Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models

• Operations Analysis: Ability to analyze needs and product requirements to create a design
• Operations Monitoring: Ability to monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure that machine is working properly
• Quality Control Analysis: Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
• Repairing: Ability to repair machines or systems using the needed tools
• Troubleshooting: Ability to determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do about it

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Completed relevant training course with TESDA certification
• With at least 2 years of experience handling electrical equipment
