Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Vice President for University Human Resources, the Assistant to the Vice President for University Human Resources / Client Engagement Head shall support the office achieve its mandate in overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of HR development strategies, policies, programs, and services.
As Assistant to the Vice President for University Human Resources, the position is expected to manage the day-to-day operations of the Office of the Vice President for University Human Resources, and the University Human Resources Cluster.
As Client Engagement Head, the position is expected to serve the main liaison between HR and the employees and University leaders. It shall ensure that UHR Cluster, through its Centers of Practice, is able to address concerns.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Client Partnership Engagement
- Keeps abreast with trends and changes happening in and outside the University and determines how it affects the UHR Cluster, and contributes to the overall employee engagement and experience.
- Monitors and evaluates HR/OD policies and strategies to improve systems in support of the academic and the administrative clusters’ realities and plans.
Employee Engagement and Experience
- Designs and implements data-driven employee experience plans and initiatives that would contribute to nurturing and sustaining a productive, committed, and engaged employee population.
- Establishes metrics and quality measures to determine how the academic and administrative cluster’s HR/OD initiatives impact employee experience and engagement pre- and post-intervention.
- Manages the communication portals for the UHR Cluster, including the determination of content, review of postings and updating of information.
Cluster Management Support
- Builds partnerships with Cluster Heads/executive leadership, with the intention of understanding the needs of their respective clusters.
- Monitors the achievement of the Cluster’s goals, projects and KPIs, keeping track of the deliverables, timelines, agreements, including possible sustainability measures.
- Drafts Cluster reports and ensures timely submission of such finalized reports such as the preparation of the Cluster budget.
Office Management
- Coordinates with various offices and external stakeholders for the achievement of the OVP-UHR’s mandates by forging sustainable relationships with these stakeholders.
- Prepares and monitors the Office’s budget and expenditures and recommends cost effective solutions for the Office, as necessary.
Section Management
- Sets the direction of the Client Engagement Section and determines its operational goals in alignment with the Office goals, and Cluster mandates.

Performs other related duties required by the immediate supervisor and/or authorized representatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A college graduate of any management course, MA will be an advantage
- Five- (5) year experience in conceptualizing employee engagement programs
- Five- (5) year experience facilitating groups and proposing interventions
- Five- (5) year experience in managing and partnering clients
- HandExperience or knowledge on several work process improvement, organizational design, people analytics.
- Has relevant experience managing teams/people
- Experience in an academic setting, an advantage
