Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:
The AV Technician I implements AV services such as setting up of the room and AV equipment as well as lending of AV equipment to faculty and students. He/she also implements inventory and preventive maintenance of AV equipment.
This position also provides AV-related services to stakeholders across all University campuses (i.e., Loyola, Ortigas, Salcedo, and Rockwell) according to the standards set for the Section.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
I. Audio Visual Services Implementation
Regulates the use of lecture halls, audio visual rooms, auditorium, classrooms, conference room, seminar rooms, church, chapel, theater covered court assigned, and all equipment therein
Implements request of stakeholders in preparing, setting up, and operating AV equipment (e.g., projector, computer sound system, camera, lights) and checks rooms and equipment every after use
Resolves received AV-related problems within his/her assigned zone
Monitors online reservation of events and equipment requested by the Reservations, Event Logistics, and Job Requests Section for required AV equipment and assistance
Guides and assists students and faculty when using the paging system
II. Equipment Lending
Administers AV equipment lending by checking information in form, verifying online reservation, and recording information in equipment logbook
Checks the equipment logbook and lists all names of faculty and students with unreturned or lapsing return due dates for borrowed equipment, and forwards these to the Department or Office of Student Services for issuance of reminders
Inspects condition of equipment before and after lending
III. Preventive Maintenance and Inventory
Cleans and repairs equipment as part of preventive maintenance
Conducts inventory of equipment in his/her designated zone
Conducts routine checks of public address system for paging, emergency situations, and bells to ensure proper program operation
IV. Performs other work-related tasks as may be required by the immediate supervisor and authorized representative
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Administrative: Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, workplace terminology (required for inventory of equipment)
- Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction (required for dealing with specifications of requesting party)
- Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance (required for maintenance of AV equipment)

- Equipment Monitoring: Ability to organize, label, and encode information on equipment (required for equipment inventory)
- Lighting Setup: Ability to operate, control, setup and layout lights (required for controlling and setting up of lights according to specifications)
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Completed course/training in Electronics and Computer System Servicing, preferably TESDA certified
- With at least 1 year of experience involving handling AV equipment, and electrical and computer systems troubleshooting
