Market Development Associate | Hybrid  

The Market Development Associate works directly with the founder across sourcing, product development, and marketplace operations. The center of gravity is sourcing and product development. Marketplace operations is a lighter, AI-assisted load.

Sourcing and product development (core)

Serve as the day-to-day point person for our sourcing agents. Brief them, gather and compare quotes, chase responses, and keep every thread moving.

Do our own direct sourcing on Alibaba and 1688. Proactively find and shortlist suppliers and factories, request samples, and surface options to the founder. Bring initiative. Don't wait to be handed suppliers.

Coordinate product development on the operational side. Track sample status across new SKUs, chase suppliers and the packaging vendor, watch product quality, and maintain a live tracker of each initiative's status and next steps.

Handle product samples on-site. Receive, organize, and evaluate samples together with the founder.

The founder retains final supplier selection, negotiation, and product and pricing direction. This role runs the legwork up to the decision.

Marketplace operations (lighter, AI-assisted)

Manage and optimize product listings across Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. Keep listings accurate, complete, and competitive, and monitor listing health.

Nominate products into marketplace promo campaigns on time, following the approved promo strategy. Proactively surface upcoming campaigns and deadlines to the founder for approval.

Support pricing. Gather and organize competitor and market pricing, maintain pricing trackers, and prepare pricing options for the founder's review.

Execute promotions. Build and maintain the promo calendar, prepare mechanics and assets, and coordinate timing across channels.

Across everything

Pull, organize, and interpret performance data (sales, ad spend, conversion) to flag what's working and what isn't.

Coordinate with the live-selling team and marketplace partners as needed.

Maintain organized documentation, trackers, and files for all of the above.

Provide general project support to the founder. Research, drafting, and ad-hoc tasks across sourcing, product, and marketplace work.

Occasionally support the Executive Assistant on regulatory, documentation, and admin tasks as bandwidth allows. This is not the core remit.

• Bachelor's degree in any field; Marketing, Business, Communications, Engineering, or other quantitative disciplines are welcome.
• Fresh graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of experience are encouraged to apply.
• Strong follow-through with the ability to manage multiple tasks and ensure timely completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with international suppliers and sourcing partners.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills; proficient in spreadsheets and data analysis.
• Comfortable using AI tools to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Resourceful, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
• Comfortable communicating in English, Tagalog, and Bisaya, as you'll be collaborating with a nationwide team.
