Adarna House is looking for a Finance Officer who will support the financial operations of its affiliated school.
During the first 3–6 months, the successful candidate will be primarily based in Adarna House’s QC office and will work closely with the Finance team to gain a thorough understanding of the school's existing financial processes, systems, policies, and reporting requirements. This period will involve observing and studying current workflows, assisting with finance-related activities, and documenting processes to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
Responsibilities include
- Studying and documenting existing financial processes, systems, and controls during the initial transition period.
- Identifying opportunities to improve, streamline, and standardize financial processes where appropriate.
- Helping manage the eventual transition and implementation of finance processes within the school.
- Supporting the day-to-day financial and accounting activities of the school.
- Manage recording, monitoring, and reconciliation of financial transactions.
- Supporting the preparation of financial reports, schedules, and other finance-related documentation.
- Monitoring income, expenses, budgets, and cash flow.
- Helping ensure that financial records and supporting documents are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
- Assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, disbursements, and other finance processes as needed.
- Coordinating with relevant departments and personnel regarding finance-related concerns and requirements.
- Supporting compliance with applicable accounting, tax, and government reporting requirements.
- Performing other finance and accounting-related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
- At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting; experience in an educational institution is an advantage but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organized, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, particularly Excel or Google Sheets.
- Experience with accounting or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Willingness to learn and understand new processes and systems.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with different teams.
