I. Job Summary
To supervise the day-to-day operations of the department in providing excellent service and quality grocery products to customers to support its sales and service achievements.
II. Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Key Performance Measures
A. Sales Achievement
- Adheres to department’s financial plan and budgets, works to improve sales, profit, inventory level and expenses.
- Determines fast-moving items and ensures prompt requisition/replenishment to sustain its sales with the approval of the superiors.
- Ensures proper and timely endorsement of return of bad orders to suppliers in coordination with merchandising.
- Implements periodic and annual cyclic count of inventory to maintain data accuracy.
B. Stock Target & Replenishment
- Oversees accurate and proper monitoring of stocks in the storage and selling areas.
- Coordinates with merchandising for stock ordering to support the department sales and service delivery.
- Ensures prompt replenishment of products in the selling area.
- Closely coordinates with merchandising and other concerned department personnel for deliveries and/or transfer of grocery items.
C. Shrinkage Control
- Implements and maintains preventive measures for shrinkage control.
- Implements proper handling procedure of merchandise against breakage or damage.
- Maintains regular checking of product code dates and pulls all out-of-code products.
- Implements disposal of bad order products according to standard procedures in disposal.
- Ensures that bad orders and its disposal are properly accounted for and reported accordingly.
D. Customer Service Execution
- Attends to customer queries, complaints or suggestions in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Provides proactive information to buying customers about product promotions within assigned areas.
- Directs and supervises store layout and appropriate display of grocery items / food items using the full techniques of category management to maximize space efficiency and quality product presentation.
- Checks pricing and tagging of grocery items / food items prior to display in the selling area.
- Checks the preparation and timely display of accurate and clear signages.
- Ensures and maintains cleanliness and organization of grocery selling, storage and surrounding areas at all times.
E. Manpower Control & Development
- Plans, organizes, controls and schedules work activities of immediate subordinates.
- Orients, trains, and guides subordinates in the performance of their duties.
- Monitors compliance by immediate subordinates to established standard operating policies and procedures, job duties and special assignments.
- Manages internal conflict of subordinates and promotes the core values of the company.
- Reviews, evaluates and appraises the performance of immediate subordinates and recommends commendation, developmental plan, promotion or disciplinary action.
V. Critical Challenges
- Achieving sales target and acceptable shrinkage level.
- Product knowledge of grocery items being sold.
- Handling direct customer complaints / concerns in the selling area.
- Handling employee’s conflict and motivating and uplifting their morale.
- Accurate stock inventory and full replenishment.
VI. Decision Making Authority
- Independent decisions on some day-to-day activities within well-defined limits.
- Regular reference to higher authority is required.
- Approves work schedules, leaves and overtime of subordinates.
Kualifikasi Minimum
Education / Professional Experience
- College graduate of any of the courses related to Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management, Food Service administration, hotel and restaurant management is an advantage,
- With at least 2 years of retail / food & beverage work related experience in hospitality industry, 1 year of which in a supervisory capacity
- Preferably with certification on Food Safety standards
