Ateneo de Manila University (Ateneo) is one of the leading universities in the Philippines. More than 150 years in existence, Ateneo has grown into a major Jesuit institution. Officially it became a university in 1959. It offers over 100 academic degree programmes.

Ateneo offers Basic Education (Grade School, Junior High School, and Senior High School). Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:

The position provides guidance and counseling to the students with the help of data from psychological tests and inputs from teachers, administrators​ ​and parents and attends to the personal and psycho-emotional needs of the students in relation to their academic performance and total formation in general.

​Main Duties and Responsibilities:

	<li>P​rovides guidance and counseling services to the students</li>
	<li>P​repares and updates Guidance Formation Modules</li>
	<li>I​​mplements grade level Guidance Program</li>
	<li>​C​onfers with parents and teachers whenever necessary</li>
	<li>Conducts case conferences whenever appropriate</li>
	<li>Maintains and updates the students’ individual records</li>
	<li>A​dministers group tests and conduct test interpretation sessions to students and parents</li>
	<li>M​akes referrals to specialists, when needed.</li>
	<li>P​rovides pertinent student data to school administrators for purposes of curriculum development.</li>
	<li>P​erforms any other such duties as may be required by the position in accordance with the instructions and guidelines of the Assistant Principal for Formation</li>

	<li>Assist the Admissions Office in assessing student applicants as regards their psychological well being in relation to mainstream education and the school standards and policies</li>
	<li>Conduct routine and follow up interviews of students referred to the office and see to it that a proper referral system is followed</li>
	<li>Prepare yearly guidance modules that regularly meets the needs and concerns of the student body, including intervention programs for students that have been referred to the Guidance Center</li>
	<li>Prepare a functional Guidance, Counseling and Mental Health Program geared towards the optimum development of the students and staff</li>
	<li>Evaluate students’ abilities and interests through aptitude assessments and interviews</li>
	<li>Identify school issues that affect students’ academic performance</li>
	<li>Conducts individual group and counseling sessions to overcome behavioral problems or develop effective organizational skills and study habits</li>
	<li>Conduct learning seminars or brainstorming sessions on school-related issues and career planning</li>
	<li>Maintain student guidance records as required</li>
	<li>Manage cases of mental health disorders and refer to partner Psychological clinics as necessary</li>
	<li>Establish policies and procedures in performing Guidance center services to students</li>
	<li>Coordinate with the academic and HR department on the function and use of guidance services</li>
	<li>Monitor and evaluate the punctuality and attendance of the students and make recommendations to the department concerned as necessary</li>
	<li>Collaborate and communicate with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student issues and all relevant information regarding the student’s academic and school progress</li>
	<li>Submit a monthly report of all accomplished programs and activities to relevant stakeholders</li>
	<li>Perform other tasks as may be required by the School Management</li>
