THE STORY OF THE HALLMARK BRAND AND FILSTAR, THE COMPANY, IN THE PHILIPPINES

The beginnings of Hallmark in the Philippines had its share of twists and charm. In 1969, people from Kansas City, U.S.A., home of the Hallmark headquarters, came to the Philippines looking for a local licensee. It was in National Book Store (NBS) that Hallmark discovered the qualities they too valued: the premium placed on excellence and the right attitude towards growth. These were the same qualities which the founder of NBS, Mrs. Socorro C. Ramos, valued.

It was a Good Friday when Mrs. Ramos was approached by Hallmark U.S.A. Thereafter, she went to Kansas City to arrange the deal and successfully came back with the license to manufacture and distribute Hallmark in the Philippines. Mida Food products are fresh frozen in nitrogen, contact plate, or blast freezers at temperatures of at most –45 degrees Celsius, and only in plants certified to export to the US, Japan and Europe.

Mida Trade was established to service US importers, processors and end users of seafood who wanted to import frozen seafood products from the Far East. Mida Trade also provided assistance to processor-exporters of seafood in the Far East who wanted to expand their markets outside of Japan. Since then Mida has expanded its range of business to include Europe, Australia, and other markets in Asia.

Job Description: The Customer Relations Assistant receives (by telephone, fax or email) requests for quotations, orders, and lead times from customers. S/he makes quotations on standard items, writes orders, and relays pertinent order information to customers and coordinates with other departments in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers.

 

Duties:

	<li>Answer phone and take orders from customers</li>
	<li>Document customer’s orders (Sales Order, Sales Invoice) properly</li>
	<li>Retrieve customer information, stock status information, the status of purchase orders, and to make changes on customer purchase orders. Ensures that correct codes are used for retrieving and inputting information.</li>
	<li>Contact customers if an item is out of stock to determine a resolution</li>
	<li>Answer question of customers regarding our products and usage</li>
	<li>Address problem on orders and customer complaints</li>
