Systems Administrator | Corporate IT  

Purpose
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the monitoring and management of server systems and applications in production, both on on-prem data center and cloud environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with the infrastructure team to operate, manage and support the company’s technical infrastructure
• Provide operational support (incidents, service and change requests), according to SLA and based on the company’s service management framework
• With experience and expertise, become the go to person for server administration, including Windows Servers, Linux Servers and components within their ecosystems (Active Directory, DNS, CA/PKI, WSUS, management tools, integrations, and others)
• Perform systems administration tasks, including installation, configuration, system hardening, patches, updates, and similar activities to ensure the availability, performance and security of the systems
• Aligns with ISO 9001 (QMS), data privacy (DPA 2021) and ISO 27001 (ISMS) organizational objectives, with participation in formulation and updates of policies, and in internal and external audits as maybe required
• Maintain records of systems, procedures, and similar documentation
• Responsible for license management
• Interact with other IT team members, vendors, and suppliers to assist in the analysis, data gathering, troubleshooting, identification of root cause, technical support and resolution of issues.
• Facilitate, assist, and provide the project teams including but not limited to software development team in preparing the required systems, applications, and tools to meet the user and business requirements.
• Provide regular reports to management
• Actively participate in the status meeting to communicate progress and escalate risks and roadblocks.
• Prepare training materials and conduct training as needed
• Responsible for the information security by protecting confidential information from unauthorized access, ensuring the integrity of the information and information system, taking appropriate measures to manage security risks, and following and complying with the laws, legislations and terms of contracts.
• Participate in BCP/DR preparedness and testing
• Perform assigned duties, as necessary

A. Minimum Education

• Graduate of Computer Science or equivalent

B. Minimum Experience/Training

• With at least three (3) years of experience as senior system administrator
• Training in systems administration (Microsoft and others)
• Familiarity with the following an advantage

o Database administration (SQL Server, MySQL)
o AWS or Azure systems administration
o ITIL certification or training
o Linux administration
o DevOps processes and tools

• Demonstrable capability and experience/expertise in the following areas:

o Windows Server administration, including GPO, web server (IIS) and other components
o Scripting using PowerShell
o Windows Clustering and similar HA capabilities
o Active Directory (AD)
o Domain Name Systems (DNS)
o SSL certificates
o Windows Server Update Systems (WSUS)
o Backup management
o High availability and disaster recovery
o Performance management
o Troubleshooting and log management
