Job Description

The Operations Manager shall be responsible for the overall management of several stores in an assigned area which includes sales and profitability, operational efficiency, business analysis, customer service, and people management.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Profitability
    • Achieves sales versus target
    • Achieves EBIT and EBITDA versus target
    • Ensures that OPEX is within the approved forecast
  • Operational Efficiency
    • Ensures ideal Shelf Service Level (SSL) of fast-moving and best selling merchandise
    • Conducts aggressive campaigns on Health and Wellness
    • Reviews competitive price check of Top 200 products included in Price Rollback
    • Ensures that clean and fresh standards are implemented across all departments at any given time
    • Ensures that Store Clustering guidelines are followed based on approved criteria
    • Ensures correct and timely execution of all calendared category and sub-category promotions
    • Recommends local store promotions in challenged branches affected by competition
    • Analyzes Category Management implementation and its impact on store's sales
    • Coordinates with Head Office Support departments on concerns and issues related to Store Operations
    • Ensures that shrinkage of assigned stores is within the budget
    • Ensures that security measures and controls are in place at all times
    • Ensures that all Store Officers are compliant to approved policies and procedures
  • Business Analysis
    • Analyzes financial performance and identifies areas for improvement
    • Develops operational strategies and programs to achieve sales and profitability targets together with the Store Manager
    • Conducts regular Business Review with store's key officers to plan programs that will improve store's performance
    • Participates in Merchandising category reviews
  • Customer Service
    • Develops and oversees implementation of Customer Service initiatives in the store
    • Addresses all the customer related complaints properly and on time
    • Recommends Customer Service trainings and workshops to improves and sustains excellent service level in assigned stores
    • Reviews store readiness to emergency situations through proper training of Store Emergency Response Team
  • People Management
    • Recommends hiring, transfers, and promotions of all supervisory positions
    • Recommends competency upgrades of Store Managers
    • Participates in skills assessment process of employees
    • Recommends personal and professional enhancement programs to develop employee's full potential
    • Ensures proper implementation of employee discipline and company policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or its equivalent
  • Preferably with 5 years of experience in managing store operations
  • Must be knowledgeable in all facets of operations such as selling, cashiering, warehousing, security, and admin
  • Must have excellent leadership and decision-making skills
