About Manila Water Company
Manila Water Company, Inc. is a Philippine company that holds the exclusive right to provide water and used water services to the eastern portion of Metro Manila under a Concession Agreement entered into between the company and the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) in August 1997. It is a publicly-listed company and a subsidiary of Ayala Corporation.
The company currently serves more than six million customers in its concession area in the East Zone of Metro Manila and Rizal Province, which encompasses 23 cities and municipalities spanning a 1,400-square kilometer area. Operating under a 40-year Concession Agreement with the Philippine government, Manila Water puts a premium on customer service and sustainable development. Its mission is anchored on helping build the communities it serves, especially low-income communities, and protecting the environment.
Through the years, Manila Water has expanded its operations and ventured into major cities and provinces outside Metro Manila through Manila Water Philippine Ventures (MWPV), and in the Asia-Pacific region through Manila Water Asia Pacific (MWAP). MWPV has brought its expertise and experience to the rest of the country through local subsidiaries in Laguna Province, Boracay Island, Clark Special Economic and Freeport Zone in Pampanga, Cebu Province, Zamboanga City, and Tagum City in Davao del Norte. Moreover, MWAP has established management contracts and investments internationally, specifically in Vietnam, Myanmar, and Indonesia, and has been exploring projects in these countries, as well as in other parts of the region. Manila Water Total Solutions Corporation (MWTS), meanwhile, is a wholly-owned subsidiary that handles after-the-meter products and services. Its current offerings include pipelaying, integrated used water services, and Healthy Family Purified Water.
