Job Description

The FVP - CFO is responsible for the overall strategic management of the finance related activities of the client's SBU and its distribution units. The position links the distribution units to two SBUs of the conglomerate and provides the standards and platform for the continuing enhancement of financial operations and revenue opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as an advisor to the COO on all financial matters impacting the business
  • Working closely with the COO defines the financial strategy for the organization in line with Distribution’s overall objectives and manages the balance sheet in the best interests of the business and its investors. Works with the senior management team to set clear business plans/budgets and resource allocations for Distribution’s objectives and targets. Works in accordance with the accepted accounting and auditing professional standards and policies.

  • Oversees the development and implementation of policies, systems, and procedures for internal control to safeguard the financial health of the DU group.

  • Coordinates with the COOs and DU COO from the various utilities as well as on the alignment of the financial strategy and ensures that the Distribution business is in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, budgets and targets.

  • Oversees the conduct and completion of both internal and statutory audits in a timely manner.

  • Oversees statutory compliance for the organization.

  • Evaluates all major financial decisions related to Distribution and provides input on risk assessment as well as all related reports, ratios, and recommendations to assist the COO and management in making a decision.

  • Determines the extent to which assets are accounted for and safeguard from losses or frauds of any kind. Oversees reports of findings and recommendations on matters audited.

  • Assures management that the resources and funds are being managed in a prudent manner within the regulations established for their use.

  • Ensures timely submission of the financial data to statutory/ regulatory authorities. Ensures that the financial records are in compliance with the regulatory directives.

  • Provides analyses on financial viability/opportunities and risks associated with Distribution’s activities. Analyses continuously the performance against plan and forecasts.

  • Responsible for forecasting, consolidating and monitoring Distribution’s financials, and reporting accurate management information reflecting business results and profitability, to efficiently provide the COO with financial information for use in setting and realizing business profit objectives.

  • Stays ahead of financial and reporting trends and regulations. Is proactive in ensuring the Distribution business is always ahead.

  • Runs the shared service center for Finance and Accounting for the distribution group. Is directly responsible for strategic leadership in dealing with critical accounting issues, revenue recognition, tax issues, and all matters related to financial systems and control.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Professional: At least 10 years of experience in general accounting, strategic management, financial analysis planning and control, and investments.
  • Leadership experience: At least 10 years of experience in a management and executive capacity.
  • Project Experience: At least 5 years of experience in project management, financing and control.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Engineering. CPA and/or MBA a plus.
