Network Specialist  

1. Monitors the network infrastructure using a Network Management System and takes appropriate preliminary actions to correct issues based on alerts/alarms

2. Designs, plans, and executes the implementation, administration, and maintenance of data, voice, and video networking equipment (e.g., switches, routers, firewalls, gateway devices, including servers) across all branches and subsidiaries/affiliates in the absence of Server and Network Administrator

3. Maintains the data and voice network infrastructure

4. Initiates escalation of issues to third party network service providers (i.e. telecommunication companies, network equipment suppliers, structured cabling providers) and jointly resolve them

5. Supervises assists or directs external network service providers in the execution and implementation of projects

6. Ensures that Incident Reports and Service Request tickets assigned are completed or escalated expeditiously

7. Requests quotes from suppliers on purchase requirement of the Department, prepares justification memos and monitors the approval of all requests (i.e. approval, PO issuance, Delivery)

8. Reviews and/or processes the monthly Statement of Account from third party network service providers

9. Coordinates with Metrobank’s GSD on purchases

10.Assists his/her immediate superior in preparing administrative reports related to budget and unit operations

11.Manages and maintains with strict confidentiality all records/documents and client information

12.Manages multiple tasks, priorities, deadlines and interruptions successfully

13.Performs additional tasks assigned by Immediate Superior related to the position

- Candidates must be a graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or any related course
˗ Has a background on troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, routers, switches

- Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
- Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization, work independently but also comfortable working in a team environment
- Able to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, flexible when necessary
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, routers, switches,
- Ability to create accurate network diagrams including detailed documentation
