Job Description
- Responsible for the overall direction and control of all phases of Plant Operations such as Safety, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Engineering & Maintenance and Warehousing, . Responsible for plant-wide initiative plans, policies and programs aligned with the overall business objective or corporate plan and consistent with plant APIs. In addition, the Plant Operations Manager is responsible for annual budget planning and execution. Establishes and maintains community relations through out-reach programs. Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
- Provides leadership for the successful day-to-day operations of the plant. Ensures that plant sections operate at expected performance levels in terms of Safety, Cost-effectiveness, efficiency, productivity, quality, capacity and overtime. This also includes ensuring that the plant complies with all relevant corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Provides leadership in maintaining a Safe, Environmentally friendly and Clean Plant. This includes working closely with the EHS Manager to ensure that all members of the organization are aware of safety policies and to provide a safe workplace for employees;
- Conceptualizes manufacturing strategies and actions for the accomplishment of plant production goals. Furthermore, encourages the use of new techniques and concentrate on fact based problem solving;
- Develops plant-wide policies that will ensure plant-wide adherence to the Quality Plan, HACCP and GMP programs, which are integral components to maintaining good product Quality standards. This includes ensuring that plant manufacturing operations are in compliance to the ISO9001 and ISO22000 systems.
- Leads the cost and continuous improvement initiatives of the plant. This includes but not limited to the establishment and implementation of the CIP and IAF programs.
- Communicates vision for long-term success to plant personnel. In addition, Builds and maintains a strong, well trained and highly motivated plant workforce with a good working relationships with each other and the community;
- Ensures a working environment that promotes and encourages employee participation and involvement in Safety, Quality, GMP and in the continuous improvement programs of the plant.
- Responsible for training, selecting, and motivating plant supervisory and administrative staff. This is to achieve an effective use of manpower and enhance human resource utilization within every department. With HR, administers assessment of employee performance and ensures that complaints of employees are addressed in time.
- Manages and builds social relationships and understanding within the community, with plant suppliers and other key stake holders.
- Leads the site top management team or Operations Committee (OPCOM) and leads this team in setting up company policies and guidelines for the site’s operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- College graduate, preferably of an Engineering or Business degree
- Preferably with a Masters or Doctoral degree or units in a related field
- Good scholastic records
- Proficient in oral and written Englis
- Preferably knowledgeable in the use of business and manufacturing simulation software
- At least 7 years supervisory or managerial experience in a manufacturing plant
