Banquet Supervisor  

A Banquet Supervisor is responsible for supervising Conference & Banqueting operations to deliver an excellent guest experience by oveseeing all banquet functions from start to finish. He/She must be able to work in all areas of Food & Beverage Service including the Restaurant. He/She is responsible for assisting/conducting staff pre-function meetings and administrative duties pertaining to banquets.

DUTIES

• Assist with planning, organization and execution of all banquet functions
• Set up banquet area/room, ensuring cleanliness and proper set up of furniture/equipment as the event required.
• Holds pre-function briefing to determine specifications of each function
• Ensures efficient operation of banquet functions by coordinating and providing work direction for banquet personnel
• Communicate with guests, other employees, or departments to ensure guest needs are met.
• Supervise the floor, make sure food is presented neatly, served on time and that all functions are coordinated properly.
• Personally monitors all guest complaints. Act as a single point of contact with the banquet host during the banquet function.
• Supervises the handling, storage and security of all kitchen and banquet equipment used in function
• Liaise with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and compliance with procedures.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
• Supervise (in the absence of the Cafe Supervisor) the shift’s operations in the Restaurant

• Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management or equivalent
• Previous experience in similar job role
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• A superb leader and good team player
• Should posses in-depth knowledge of food and beverage preparation and presentation
• Should be able to work under pressure and also work in long or break shifts.
• Able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
