Job Description

  • Managing end-to-end accounting and finance routines (AP, AR, Bank Recs, Month-end processing, monthly and yearly accounts preparation, managing external audit, preparing BAS, FBT, Income Tax and payroll tax returns) for small to medium size group companies.
  • Process fortnightly payroll for the portfolio companies.
  • Prepare and circulate monthly project financial reports to relevant managers
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts for the portfolio companies
  • Manage month-end processing and maintaining fixed asset register
  • Maintaining and updating all lease and loan schedules to ensure compliance with AASB.
  • Independently coordinate the external audit, and respond to information requests from the auditors
  • Research AASB, IFRS, and GAAP to ensure that Aspen accounts meet all relevant requirements.
  • Prepare Income Tax, FBT and payroll tax returns for Portfolio Companies and respond to any inquiries from respective regulatory bodies.
  • Produce any ad-hoc reports as may be required by Financial Controller or GM Finance.
  • Prepare annual budget and other financial forecasts for the portfolio companies in consultation with CEO’s of the respective companies.
  • Upload Annual budget in an accounting system.
  • Maintain accounting system
  • Provide leadership and support to junior staff, if required.
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned by Financial Controller from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Accounting qualification, university degree level or equivalent.
  • CPA
  • 7+ year’s post qualification experience of working as accountant in reputable orgnisations.
  • Knowledge of Australian GST, FBT and income tax.
  • Sound knowledge of computerised accounting systems
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • An ability to deal with numerous issues concurrently
  • Advance excel skills
  • Good working knowledge of Xero accounting software
